The Federal Labor Party’s Shadow Assistant Minister for Western Australia said cash payments for vaccines would help accelerate the rollout in areas like the Goldfields, which are falling behind.
TheGoldfields-Esperance region is part of the area with the lowest indigenous vaccination rate in the country.
Federal Member for Perth Patrick Gorman visited Kalgoorlie-Boulder this week, and said the Federal Government should implement $300 cash incentives for anyone who gets vaccinated.
“We all respond to incentives, 300 bucks, get vaccinated,” Mr Gorman said.
“It’s very cheap compared to that economic wrecking ball that will swing through the entirety of the Goldfields if we don’t get the vaccination rollout right.”
