AFL Tribunal: Hawthorn’s Jaegar O’Meara fined for elbowing Fremantle’s rising star Caleb Serong

Hawthorn star Jaegar O’Meara has escaped with a fine for his elbow to the ribs of Caleb Serong, but teammate Mitchell Lewis has been slapped with a one-match ban for striking the Dockers midfielder.

O’Meara can accept a $2000 fine with an early guilty plea for his strike that was classed as intentional conduct, low impact, and body contact.

Serong went off to recover following the first-quarter incident, and copped another hit in the fourth term when he was struck by Lewis.

The AFL’s match review officer classed that incident as intentional conduct, low impact, and high contact.

Hawthorn defender Jack Scrimshaw can accept a $1000 fine for his blatant off-the-ball trip on Fremantle skipper Nat Fyfe.
