Perth woman Kaye Davis not notified of her mum Joyce Savage’s death for 10 days

A Perth woman is demanding answers after only finding out about her mother’s death when she was told to come and pick up her belongings from the nursing home – 10 days after she had died.

The revelations come on the same day the Royal Commission released its recommendations for the aged care sector.

Kaye Davis discovered that her mum, Joyce Savage, had died on Valentine’s Day at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

Joyce, 89, suffered from dementia and had been admitted to the hospital after staff at Acacia Living Group Menora Gardens reported that she had been continuously vomiting, The West Australian reports.
